Getting Ready to Board Your Companion?
As the holiday approaches, many of us are busy making plans to travel and/or visit with family and friends. Since it can be hard to include pets in all of the festivities, many of our clients are relying on boarding facilities in the area to take care of their companions while they are away. Now is the time to contact your boarding facility and find out what they require (such as vaccines), so that you will have plenty of time to bring your pets in to get them up to date! Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions or if you need to schedule an appointment!
**Keep in mind that most boarding facilities require a negative fecal parasite test prior to boarding. You do not need to schedule an appointment for this test, and samples shouldn't be more than 12 hours old. However, it takes approximately 24 hours for us to get results back because we send our fecal samples out to a lab, so please plan accordingly! If the test comes back positive, treatment often must be completed BEFORE you can drop your pet off for boarding, and this can take up to 10 days. After treatment, a recheck fecal test will need to be sent out, and as long as it comes back negative, your pet will be ready to board! |
