Fecal Testing:
Did you get a reminder about a “Fecal Dx Profile (K9-feline)” or a “Fecal - exotic”? This means that your pet is due for a gastrointestinal parasite test. We recommend testing at least once yearly. Our system sends reminders every 6 months just in case you board your pet at a facility that requires semi-yearly testing. You are welcome to drop off a fecal sample any time during our office hours: weekdays from 8:00AM - 5:00PM. It will be $54 to send out to the lab. The fresher the better for the sample.
Dogs & Cats - The sample must be no more than 12 hours old and at least a tablespoon's worth.
Birds - The night before you bring a sample in, put a sheet of wax paper or parchment paper underneath the bird's favorite perch. Allow it to collect overnight and until it looks like the sample is more than a teaspoon worth, or as big as your thumb nail. Once collected, fold the paper into itself and place in a ziploc bag.
Exotics - Please make sure the fecal sample is no more than 12 hours old and at least a teaspoon worth, or as big as your thumb nail.
Results take 24-48 hours to complete, our motto is “no news is good news”, and if anything comes back positive you will be informed right away.

What is an OTC (over the counter) and Technician appointment?
If you have no health concerns for your pet and just need a vaccine update, nail trim, bloodwork, etc, you can schedule an OTC appointment with one of our technicians. At an OTC appointment, when you come in at your scheduled time, a technician will meet you in the lobby and take your pet back with them to the treatment area, do whatever they need to do for the appointment and bring them back up to you. Yes, you will be waiting in the lobby until your pet is done with their visit. The deposit required at the time of scheduling is $25, and that covers the technician service fee. Any additional cost will be added during/after the appointment.
If you would like to be in a room with your pet instead, we offer technician visits. A technician visit is when you sit in a room with your pet while the technician does whatever needs to be done, and you will be with them the entire time. The deposit required at the time of scheduling is $45, and that covers the technician service fee. Any additional cost will be added during/after the appointment.
Please note that if you have any health concerns the technician will advise you to schedule an appointment with one of our doctors here, at our next soonest availability.
